Entrance Randomizer
The Entrance Randomizer settings allow the player to randomize loading zones (also called "entrances") connecting the world.
Available Entrance Randomizer Modes
Randomize Starting Location
Normally when you start a seed, you begin your playthrough outside of Link's house. However, with this option enabled, you can start your adventure from various places throughout Hyrule. There are a couple of restrictions on where you can spawn:
- You cannot spawn in a Boss Room
- You cannot spawn inside Hyrule Castle or right outside Hyrule Castle
Also note that if you randomize your spawn, the Prologue and Sewers sequence are automatically skipped.
Shuffle Dungeon Entrances
This setting randomizes dungeon entrances, which by default includes the 8 main dungeons, with an option to include Hyrule Castle As well.
Dungeon portals will return Link in front of whatever dungeon he entered from. So, for example if Link enters Forest Temple and finds Snowpeak Ruins. Defeating Blizetta will spawn Link back in Faron Woods.
Unpair Entrances
Twilight Princess is a unique game in the sense that some entrances use two doors (e.g Snowpeak Ruins). With this setting enabled, each door is treated as a separate entrance. So, for example, if you have Dungeon Entrances shuffled and try to enter Snowpeak Ruins, the Left door may take you to Temple of Time, but the Right door may take you to the Palace of Twilight.
Decouple Entrances
If this setting is enabled then entrances are no longer assumed to be "two-way" (i.e if you enter a room through a door, turning around will take you the way you came). This adds a new level of complexity because Link could enter Forest Temple to fine Temple of Time, but then turn around and leave and be placed in Lake Hylia.
